Isagani C. Puertollano Union, New Jersey Community Leader and Promoter of the Fil-American Community

A native of Iloilo and currently of Union, NJJ, Isagani has an
established record as a community leader and promoter of the
general welfare of the Filipino-American community.
Isagani C. Puertollano is the current President of the Federation
of Philippine Societies in NJ, the youngest director of the
Philippine Independence Day Council, Inc. (PIDCI) and one of the
Santacruzan 2004 Hermano Mayors of the Catholic Action of Mary’
s in Jersey City.
He served as the youngest Over-All Chairman of the Philippine-
American Friendship Committee, Inc (PAFCOM) for the year
2002. PAFCOM is the organizer of the annual month-long
Philippine-American Friendship Day and Festival
commemorating the anniversary of friendship between the United
States of America and the Philippines which was declared on July
4, 1946 when the Philippine Commonwealth ended.
Gani, as he is warmly called, is currently serving as the VP
Membership of the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce
(East Coast). Vice Chair on Parade (PAFCOM), Executive VP of the
Iloilo Society of America Foundation, board member of the

Garden State Filipino-American Association and the Sta. Barbara East Coast Association- USA. He is also
affiliated with the National Federation of Filipino American Associations(NaFFAA).
Being a community leader is inherent in Gani as he was the founding president of the Bayanihan Club of
Union Township and Bayanihan Club of Union County. He is also the co-founder of the newly organized
Marian Community fo St. Michael’s Parish, the Filipino American Society of Union County (FASUC), and the
founding organizer of the Walk for Christ, in which a spiritual movement walk is held every Good Friday since
1998 in Washington township, NJ. Gani also volunteers as a helper of the Union County Senior and Disabled
Feeding Program.
As a young man, Gani is deeply involved also in youth activities. He is co-founder of the Mabuhay Club of New
Jersey, a Filipino American youth organization. He is currently serving as a Chairman, Student Support, Union
County Vocational & Technical High School and a Fund Raising Chairman of Magnet High School of Union
County. Gani is also a coach for the Union Soccer League which already won five (5) championships so far.
Gani obtained his Marine Engineering degree fro Iloilo Maritime Academy and Auto Diesel Technician
Certificated at the Lincoln Technical Institute. He is presently managing a family business. He resides in
Union, New Jersey with wife, Ronemia Habaradas, a registered nurse and three sons-Romeo (18) a BS Bio-
Med Engineering freshman at the New Jersey Institute of Technology with full scholarship, Dominic (16), a
junior student at the Union County Vocational Technical High School and Irvin (13), eighth grade student at
Burnet Middle School, Union, NJ.
