Victor Emmanuel G. Lorica, MD, FASN Chief of Nephrology at Inova Alexandria Hospital

A product of the University of the Philippines (UP) System since
kindergarten, all the way to Medical School, Dr. Victor Emmanuel
Gatmaitan Lorica is an accomplished nephrologist in suburban
Washington, D.C.
A magna cum laude at UP Diliman, Dr. Lorica taught Vertebrate
Anatomy and Physiology at UP Manila as a full time medical student
at the UP College of Medicine. Upon graduation from medical
school, Dr. Lorica was recognized as one of the Most Outstanding
Intern in Internal Medicine and Orthopedics, and, was among the
UP graduates listed as Medical Board Topnotchers. He later
trained at the State University of New York in Buffalo,
(SUNY-Buffalo) and the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore,
Maryland.
Currently the Chief of Nephrology at Inova-Alexandria Hospital in Virginia, Dr. Lorica is a Senior
Partner at both the Virginia Nephrology Group, LLP (VNG) with offices in Arlington, Fairfax and
Alexandria, and the Renal Care Partners (RCP) of Arlington and Fairfax. He is also a co-founder
of Clinical Research and Consulting, LLC and Medical Director of Davita Dialysis of Alexandria.
A Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Georgetown, and a published author, Dr. Lorica
volunteers as a physician at a Free Clinic in Fairfax, Virginia. At his private practice, he takes
care of patients, regardless of ability to pay.
Aside from being Chairman of the Board of the Philippine American Foundation for Charities, Inc.,
he also supports the charitable and humanitarian works of several NGOs, most notably, Feed
the Hungry and The Asia America Initiative. Both Dr. Lorica and his wife, Dr. Arlene Marie Lorica
are proud advocates of the Filipino Veterans Equity Bill and the Peace Process in Mindanao. In
2006, Dr. Lorica chaired the highly successful Migration Centennial Philippine Festival Committee
in Washington, DC.
The Loricas are blessed with 4 loving, God fearing and accomplished children, Michelle, Leia,
Andrew and Christine, who all share their parents' passion for singing, dancing, traveling, scuba
diving and playing golf. As a family, they have showcased Philippine talent in the US with
their memorable performances through their exceptional singing and dancing.
