Another moro-moro: GMA's 4th impeachment probe
12/01/2008    8:11 PM ET

WASHINGTON, D.C. Dec. 1, (PinoyGlobal) - Since filing, this impeachment
case has long been dead in the water, with Matt Defensor as chairman
of the committee.
His son, Mike, the former congressman before him, has been included by
Linda Olaguer Montayre in her book A Nation Unborn as one with whom
Gloria Arroyo has had a dalliance with. Who knows, Mike could still be
one of the presidential boyfriends? So obviously, Matt went for his own
economic solution rather than be a party poofer. His whole family is well
taken care of financially by the godfather because they make the
godmother happy, politically or otherwise.

“highly speculative.”
In his weekly press conference in Malacañang this afternoon, Executive
Secretary Eduardo Ermita said Velarde, who is one of President Gloria
Macapagal-Arroyo’s spiritual advisers, is a responsible person who would
not make such statements against the government.

MANILA (PNA) Dec. 5 (PinoyGlobal) – Experts on Thursday highlighted

(CCT) program, touted as one of the best ways to cushion the impact of
higher food and fuel prices on the poor.
The World Bank (WB), which spearheaded the event at the Asian
Institute of Management (AIM), said a well-targeted social safety net
program like CCT could help reduce poverty through improvements of the
poor families’ health, nutritional, and educational status.

umbrella organization but to establish links among various autonomous
national and local groups in order to harness our collective strength,”
National Chair Greg Macabenta reminded officers of 20 the National
Federation of Filipino American Associations during their planning
meeting in Washington D.C. on November 22.  ”As national chair, I don’t

4th Impeachment Gaveled To Death              12/04/2008   9:42 PM ET

NEW YORK, N.Y., Dec. 06 - Did we really expect the 4th impeachment
against Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo would pass the Lower House of
Congress, or be elevated to the Senate, which is hostile to her, if we are
to believe Gloria’s goblins? This claim is highly unlikely, not with Sen. Juan
Ponce Enrile, an administration senator, is the kingpin in that chamber.

NEW YORK, N.Y., Dec. 06 (PinoyGlobal) - The financial crisis in the world
today is like a flu pandemic. The world is reeling under the weight of it
and cannot believe what is happening. Unlike the possible ways to fight
a flu pandemic, though, there is no vacccine for the economic chaos
engulfing the planet, except to earnestly pray a great deal.

Statement by Greg Macabenta, NaFFAA National Chair, on the
Appointment of Gen. Shenseki as Secretary of Veterans Affairs

    12/08/2008  8:010 PM ET

We take special pride in the selection of Gen. Eric Shenseki as Veterans
Affairs Secretary. We agree wholeheartedly with President-elect Obama
when he said that Gen. Shenseki “is exactly the right person who is
going to be able to make sure that we honor our troops when they come
home.” So many of our veterans today are struggling to heal their
wounds and rebuild their lives. And there are many still, including
veterans of World War II, who fought nobly and bravely in the nation’s
war effort, They have been waiting for a very long time to have their
honor and dignity restored.

Pacman Smashes Legendary“Punisher”       12/08/2008  8:013 PM ET

NEW YORK, N.Y., Dec. 09 (PinoyGlobal) - It is sad that I cannot be proud
of our Philippine public officials and political leaders. But I am proud and
ecstatic over a poor boy from Gen. Santos City who started selling
cigarettes in the streets and became internationally famous by his
boxing exploits. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao earned the enviable
reputation of being the greatest boxer last Saturday “pound for pound”
in all the divisions whose 5 championship belts he won, and currently
holds, mostly via knockouts. Pacman has defeated every conceivable
Latino champion and contender that caught his devastating punches in
the ring. The latest was the self-appointed would-be “punisher” of
Pacquiao, Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya in Las Vegas, last Saturday.

TIME TO OPEN OUR MIND TO FINANCIAL RE-EDUCATION
  12/08/2008  8:12 PM ET

This is the time for serious financial re-education of our fellow
immigrants. Yes, the pasture is still greener here in the US in spite of the
present economic condition in comparison of the Philippine economy. The
fact is the financial landscape is changing and Americans are becoming
either wealthier or poorer and the American middle class are
disappearing. Do we need to be worried? The wealthy still need our
services, the nurses are forever in demand and so are teachers, nannies
and housekeepers.

NEW YORK, N.Y., Dec. 12 (PinoyGlobal) - This year our very own boxing
icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao made two breath-taking scores in his
career as a boxer. He defeated the Welterweight Champion David Diaz
who fell facedown on the 7th round of their 12 round title fight. Last
week, Manny again out scored and outfought the acclaimed world’s
greatest boxer Oscar De La Hoya who begun as a teenage throb in the
boxing arena at the Olympics in 1992 after he won and became
champion. Thereafter, he rose to heights not many boxers achieved.
Oscar became 10 times champion in little over a decade in his
professional boxing career.
