PHILIPPINES-MCC-PRIVATE SECTOR PARTNERSHIP EXPLORED IN DIALOGUE

“05 December 2008. The Embassy of the Philippines, in cooperation with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)-Private Sector Initiatives, organized a Private Sector Dialogue (PSD) with the Millennium Challenge Account-Philippines (MCAP) Point of Contact Dr. Dante Canlas to discuss the Philippine Compact proposals and identify opportunities where MCA funds can be leveraged with private sector financing and expertise. Around 25 members of the business community, including GE, Microsoft, Oracle, Raytheon, Taylor-Dejongh, Sun Edison, Dole, Western Union, U.S.-ASEAN Business Council, US Chamber of Commerce and the Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce, attended the dialogue. Private sector representatives requested the MCAP to explore how technology could be better integrated into projects to leapfrog constraints in rural areas and in addressing fiscal governance
